Narrow Dog to Carcassonne

This is a peculiar little book, about a man, his dog and his wife (in that order) who travel by narrow boat through England’s canals, across the waters.

Not content to float about, they undertake an epic journey through English canals, along the Thames and out across the great water to France and then southwards down to Carcasonne. Where others balked, they barged ahead.

The book tells the tale of the narrow dog Jim — a whippet — and the voyage on the narrow boat in a grumpy, myopic kind of way. Definitely a light read, but fun nonetheless.
