Creature Comforts is the work of Aardman Animations, the team that created the Wallace and Gromit animated short films, as well as two feature-length movies. Like Wallace and Gromit, Creature Comforts uses claylike figures.

After running three of seven ‘claymation’ episodes, the American network CBS decided to pull the series. Aardman Animations are unavailable for comment, but it is likely the series will be picked up by a cartoon channel.
Creature Comforts is based on a series of taped, unscripted interviews with various people from all around the United States at their residences. Each voice from these interviews is then matched with a fitting character, bringing clay to life with real people’s voices and opinions on topics ranging from animal intelligence to dog habits.
Kelvin Mack lent his “raspy voice” like a 1980s rapper to Creature Comfort’s claymation character ‘Pound Dog’, a boxy-faced, gray mutt. ‘Pound Dog’ is desperately in search of an owner. According to CBS.com, his “raspy voice” gives way to a “smooth patter frequently punctuated by a smoker’s laugh.”
Mack says he earned $100 for every episode. Awoof! That’s not a lot of thespian bones, now is it? All the same, Mack loved taking part. And as for his canine character? “I think they hit it right on the head,” “It fits the character, and it fits me.”
SuperWoof to Mack, Pound Dog and Creature Comforts! No matter what CBS thinks, I’d still love to see the show!
