A brave dachshund guarded over the dead body of his two-legged companion in Pretoria, Africa. He guarded so fiercely that a vet had to be called by Police, who was asked to tranquilise the ferocious sausage dog guarding the body of his murdered 89 year old owner.
The dog wanted to bite anyone who tried to come near the body of the former policeman. Ggrwooof!
His former two-legged companion, Mr. R.H. Sonnekus, had worked at the former SA Criminal Buro and was murdered on Tuesday morning at his house, where he and the dachshund lived.
Sonnekus’s sister had suspected something was wrong when she could not reach him. She called his neighbour who then found Sonnekus on the kitchen floor, with his sausage dog next to him.
Gggrwooof! Gruesome! But note, please, that it shows the definite pattern of intentional shaping of behaviour which goes beyond anything what many consider to be the limits of animal behaviour, namely ‘natural instinct.’ I leave you to ponder the implications….
