The Dog that Was a Wolf

A Chinese man who thought he was doing a good deed by rescuing a shivering ‘puppy’ has since been told that his ‘puppy’ is really a wolf.

Authorities were called to the village of Xian after local residents became suspicious when they heard howls in the night.

Mr Li’s pet dog, who he’d found on a walk in the mountains last year and, was really a wild wolf.

He said: “It looks very much like a dog to me. I would never have suspected that it was a wolf.”

Experts confirmed that the animal is a wolf and it has now been taken in by a local zoo.
