The Ayshire Post has reported that a pair of Scottish dogs stand poised on the edge of a new life of movie stardom.
Draco - an otter hound - and his sidekick Maya - a miniature wirehaired dachshund (Woof!) are set to turn the cartoon life of Scooby Doo into cinematic adventures in a film produced by Warner Bros.
When Draco and Maya’s two legged companion, Michael Hogg, saw an advert calling for a big brown dog with fluffy ears and shaggy hair he immediately thought of his beloved otter hound.
Turns out Maya, the little daxie, is now in the running for the role of Scooby Doo’s sidekick Scrappy Doo.
The little and large pair have been identified as spitting images for the cartoon characters by film makers.
Michael’s mum, Nora, is non-plussed about the fact that the family pets are on the brink of doggie stardom, saying “Draco would make a great cartoon character just because of the way he looks and acts. But he’s got the whole Scooby Doo thing as well, so he’s perfect for the role.”
“They’ve got a ready-made Scooby and Scrappy.”
There may even be glory for the two-leggeds in the family, as twenty-year old Michael may secure a walk-on part in his childhood favourite.
SuperWoof to Draco and Maya!
